On two occasions Melissa has trusted me to create a book with her existing artwork. In the case of BIRDS, she entrusted her images of ceramic birds to writer Andy Sturdevant and myself. The outcome? A wistfully-written auction catalog. In [Re] Collections and Earthly Artifacts, lenticular print of Melissa’s father became inspiration for the use of vellum throughout the book; teasing the viewer with layers of what can be seen.
