I was approached by the University of Northern Iowa Department of Art (my almamater) to create a festschrift for retiring art history professor Dr. Charles Adelman. They wanted it to be a handmade edition of ten hardcover books. I stylized the formal essays by Charles’ colleagues after the Gardner’s Through the Ages textbooks and the informal student memories were contained on blue, tipped-in gate fold pages. Together, the book joyously celebrated Charles’ career achievements, classroom tangents, and quirky sense of humor.
